The project
Golden Medina Services partnered with The Watchful Crest to support the launch of Behind Closed Doors, a nonfiction publication addressing abuse, silence, and accountability within private and institutional systems.
The project focused on creating launch assets that were credible, restrained, and suitable for educational, faith-based, nonprofit, and institutional audiences. Rather than a traditional promotional rollout, the campaign emphasized clarity of purpose, responsible framing, and long-term use across schools, organizations, and community settings.
The Challenge
Launching a book that addresses sensitive subject matter requires balance. The materials needed to:
- Establish trust with parents, educators, and institutions
- Avoid sensationalism or commercial tone
- Clearly communicate safeguards and intent
- Be adaptable across public, nonprofit, and educational platforms
The launch also required positioning the work as a resource, not simply a memoir.
Our Approach
GMS developed a launch package centered on context and credibility.
The video component features the author speaking directly to camera in a calm, authoritative tone, outlining the purpose of the work and its alignment with prevention and child safety efforts. The message was carefully structured to be non-polarizing, values-forward, and suitable for broad distribution. The accompanying photoshoot provided editorial-grade imagery designed for publisher use, media outreach, websites, and institutional materials. Together, these assets created a cohesive launch foundation that could support both immediate release and long-term adoption.
Deliverables
- 90-second launch video (education & nonprofit safe)
- Editorial portrait photography for publisher and media use
- Web-ready assets for book landing page
- Content structured for institutional review and sharing
Outcome
The launch assets established a clear, responsible public-facing narrative for Behind Closed Doors, supporting outreach to parents, educators, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations. The materials were designed for longevity, enabling ongoing use beyond initial release, including educational and institutional engagement.
